We had another great turnout of our fantastic volunteers so much was accomplished. In addition to weeding, cutting back the Feverfew, and doing some watering by hand we planted taro, okra, bitter melon and Shiso in the Japanese bed and beans, cucumbers, and leeks in other beds.
The compost was turned and the finished compost from bin 3 was spread onto the raised beds.
We harvested lettuce, scapes, green onions, chard, and arugula. A donation was made to the Food Fridge at LMNH, and the volunteers had plenty to take home to enjoy.

“All of us had a blast [last Sunday] harvesting, tending compost, and weeding. The harvests on lettuce, garlic scapes, broad beans and green onions that we could take home were unexpected — and needless to say they were so fresh and a welcome addition to our home cooked meals.
