Happy new year! Jan 4 in the garden

January 5, 2023 Dhira Khewsubtrakool

Garlic seedlings

Alex and Angela decided to visit the garden yesterday to check for any post-snow damage and check on the planted crops. They were pleased to find lots of broad beans poking up under the straw, and also plenty of garlic shoots as well. Alex had done a trial planting of saffron bulbs in the planters under the vertical garden, and they are also growing nicely.

While there, they tidied up the south perennial border, chopping and dropping prostrate foliage and standing up those that still had strong stems. Some bushes are already showing spring growth!
